Rockpooling

There's a little beach not far from home that, when you catch the tide just at the right time, is the perfect place for rock pooling....

It's also the perfect place for surfing, body boarding, paddle boarding, sunbathing and general beach frolicking; which at the moment involves reading Chris Carter books, is anyone else a fan? 

I'm afraid that yes, this is pretty much just another 'look how sunny it is in Australia' post, what's even better is there's plenty more to come...

Hillarys, Perth

This week we had what's going to be a very rare day off together, so we decided to make the most of the sunshine and headed just North of Perth city centre to Hillarys boat harbour, and boy am I glad we did....

One of the best things about Hillary's boat harbour is the food, there's something for everyone and it's the perfect spot for lunch...

We went for mexican..

followed by...

Two of my favourite men ( the Aussie diet is going well!).

After that we took a stroll along the harbour...

look how wonderfully clear the water is!

and from there to the beach...

where we took far too many silly selfies and splashed about in the waves.. b-e-a-utiful! Before we knew it, it was time to dust the sand from our feet and pile in the car to head home :(

We can't wait to go back and explore the Aquarium of Western Australia when we next have some time off!

Grill'd Mandurah

A little birdie told me that a new burger joint had opened in Mandurah, so naturally we had to go and investigate. Grill'd is an Australia wide burger restaurant, who pride themselves on good quality meat apparently the sweet potato chips are pretty good too....game on...

We arrived at dusk and it was pleasantly busy, the decor was refreshing and a long shot from the rest of Mandurah's outdated foreshore restaurants. 

A quick browse of the menu and we headed up to the till to place our order. Alongside the tills you can see straight in to the kitchen, and little miss vegetarian here was pretty excited to see that they were cooking veggie options on separate grill pads. Within 15 minutes our burgers were brought over to our table.

And I went for the Garden Goodness, a veggie patty and a heap of salad...

all with a sharing portion of sweet potato fries

YUM.

Grill'd Mandurah definitely did not disappoint, whilst it had nothing on some of London's top burger joints its good quality, affordable food and is a much needed modern foodie pitstop on the Mandurah Foreshore.
