When we decided to move to Perth we vowed to explore all our neighbouring cities before heading further afield (I say this with a pinch of salt because technically Perth is closer to Bali than Brisbane), having spent a long weekend in Sydney at the end of last year it wasn't long before we started planning our next Australian adventure.
We chose Brisbane for a simple reason- mumma bee was there visiting a friend. We flew across the country with Virgin Australia, check in was quick and easy as it was an internal flight and before we knew it we were jumping off the plane dripping in sweat in tropical Brisbane. We picked up our hire car and head straight to the hotel. There's a huge selection of gorgeous hotels in Brisbane to suit every style and budget, if you're visiting I'd recommend checking out HotelsCombined to find the best deal for your dates.
After a lovely evening relaxing in the hotel and a very sound nights sleep, we got to work exploring the city.....
Brisbane city hall is gorgeous, there's a museum on the top floor which had a pinhole photography exhibition on at the time, entry was free / gold coin donation.
We walked around the CBD getting lost as we went- probably the best way to experience a new city in my opinion; wondering into countless malls, through the skyscrapers and in and out of Starbucks branches (a girl's gotta get her fix whilst she can)
Streets beach on the Southbank is Australia's only beach in the middle of the city. The water was warm enough to walk straight in and crystal clear, it's such a gorgeous space and I would happily have spent a day lazing around if the sun was out!
There's beautiful gardens both next to the CBD and on Southbank, the walks were all pretty easy which was lucky as we were really struggling with the humidity...
Have you been to Brisbane before?
