A little bit of heaven

Every weekend we pick an area on the map and go exploring, by pure accident this weekend we found a mini paradise, a tiny beach shaded by trees with a bench to hang your towel over and luscious warm water.

As soon as we were set up I was straight on the water
(included just for comedic value, concentration face! nb. I have no idea what I'm doing in this photo)
up and down the shoreline until my arms and abs were sore.
After a little break we thought it'd be fun to see if we could do yoga on the board...
turns out it's harder than everyone on instagram makes it look!
SUP is meant to be relaxing anyway..

It was the perfect afternoon escaping the busy towns and beaches and the perfect escape after a (gasp) 76 hour week at work. I can't wait to go back with an esky full of food and drink and stay until sunset.

What's your idea of heaven?

warning: unexploded ammunition

I am a creature of habit, when I find something I like I obsess over it, wear it 5 days a week and buy it in several different colours. This playsuit (and its 2 sisters) is one of those items, it's perfect for a day exploring, lazing on the beach or can be dressed up for dinner.

Sadly these have all sold out, but a similar one is available in the sale for a bargain $9.95 Dotti Playsuit.

nothing dangerous you say (apart from the snakes hiding in the bushes...hello this is australia!) ...

oh snap.

Seal Island

A wonderful friend on instagram told me that next to Penguin Island ,in Rockingham,is a small island home to a colony of seal who are super friendly and love swimming up to boats, kayaks and divers. I couldn't resist hanging out with wild seals so we hopped on our paddle boards and took the journey over..

(hello cellulite- no fakery over here!)

As we got closer I noticed a little head bobbing about in the water, I couldn't help myself, I grabbed my snorkel and mask and jumped in

before I knew it I was joined by a curious little friend

who was very, very friendly and loved swimming alongside me

after a while he tired and head back to shore to chill out with his mates. No one's allowed anywhere near the beach (or to set foot on the island) so we head off round the corner for a little bit of reef snorkelling.

 A truly amazing day.

Have you swam with any wild animals before?
