Today we had another meet up in Bournemouth with loads of fab local bloggers. We met up in Yates's for lunch, had a quiz with some awesome prizes ( well done JK, Laura and Robyn) and lots of blog and photography related chat. We escaped armed with goody bags loaded thanks to nextjohn freida, beauxoxothe bohemian collectivejimmys iced coffee ( honestly the best iced coffee in the UK) and lush just as the rugby was starting and hit the shops. Mid way through my gorgeous JC studded shoes started playing me up (aka blisters everywhere) which led to multiple pairs of shoes being bought en route to Benefit. The wonderful Sophie and her team were ready and waiting for us and gave us a run through of their up and coming products including this to die for eyeshadow palette and their newest hit fine one one.

I really enjoyed the day and it was lovely to meet even more Bournemouth based bloggers, can't wait to see you all again soon!

Dot teas westbourne

After my super busy hill climbing weekend I decided to take the start of my week easy. Nothing says easy living like being a lady who lunches so I roped my favourite mummy friend Laura in to a tea date at Dot Teas in Westbourne.

Dot Teas has always stood out to me when driving past but this was the first time I'd been able to pop in. We went for milkshakes and I had scones with cream and jam, Laura went for a huge slab of toast smothered in baked beans. The milkshake was devine and ever so fruity and frothy and we both enjoyed our comfort food. I can't really describe it as anything but comfort food, the kind of food your nanny makes when you pop round for a visit. The interior is the real selling point at Dot Teas though, they're also available for hire - perfect place for a baby shower or vintage style hen party! I'll definitely go for one of their huge selection of teas next time I visit.

Have you been to Dot Teas before?

So after we strolled along the cliff tops by Durdle Door post here we headed off along the coastal path to do some serious hill climbing. Pup bounded off in front of us for the entire afternoon and then bounded back to us, and then away.. you get the idea. After weeks of being super serious at work I decided to throw my inhibitions to the wind, which there was lots of, and roll down several of the giant hills we'd climbed. Strangely no one said a word but I ended up rather muddy. We were all truely exhausted after a while and it was so lovely and peaceful sat at the top taking in the amazing views. I guess what I enjoyed most about the day was being able to appreciate the amazing area I've grown up in and I'm sure Danny and pup would say the same.

Durdle door

We finally got an afternoon together this weekend so decided to embrace the sunshine and headed off the Durdle door in Dorset. Durdle door is part of the Jurrasic coast, a world heritage site, and the main attraction is an arched rock formation- you might recognise it from Nanny McPhee, Wilde or Far from the Madding Crowd. The arch was formed when softer rocks were eroded away from the hard limestone allowing the sea to force it's way through, neat huh?! ( I loved geography and geology at school!). There's loads of other amazing rock formations through out Dorset such as the famous Old Harry rocks, Stair hole and Bat's head but for today we just stuck to an exhausting walk along the cliff tops. It was so lovely being able to spend a day out in the sunshine together with pup and playing with our new camera.

Have you ever been to durdle door?

This week I finally got round to having a long overdue catch up with one of my favourite ladies, we hit the shops and then decided in lunch in our of our favourite local restaurants, The Larderhouse

We both went for the sweet potato pancakes and there honestly are not enough nice words in the world to describe them, when the waiter came over to check how our meals were mina screamed '' amazing'' at him before he even got the sentence out (it was that nice). The vegetables were all fresh and everything was prepared in the kitchen right behind us. We quite enjoyed giggling at the chefs banter whilst they were cooking away behind us- makes a change to ''YES CHEF'' in other places!

I also had a boiling hot cup of grandma's fruit basket, a gorgeous sweet and fruity tea.

We're both trying to be healthy little bunnies at the moment but skipped dessert, but next time we're going to go for the lunch deal of 3 courses and some wine for £18 -total bargain! They also have an extensive drinks list featuring some amazing cocktails which are just to die for.

Have you had a meal or drinks at the larderhouse?
