Pure Glow Cleanse

'You want to feel radiant. Lit from within and bursting with energy. Our cold-pressed juice is crafted to nourish you from the inside out. We make it simple to glow and thrive each day. Because the truth is, you deserve to shine.' - Pure glow cleanse

I picked up my little cleanse box from the juice studio in Perth, welcomed lovingly by Annette one of the co-founders who gave me a little 101 on pure glow cleanse. We discussed the benefits of juice cleansing and I joked that if anything I looked forward to not having to think about food for one whole day. When I got home I swiftly opened my box to see what was inside...

It was then straight in to the fridge for my little juices ready for the next morning...

8am, Sunrise Elixir.
Lemon, Cucumber, Aloe Vera, Filtered Water

This zesty number most definitely woke me up, ditching my normal morning coffee in favour of a big glass of water and replacing breakfast with juice left me feeling energised and ready for the day. It tasted fantastic and went down a treat.

11am, Glowing Greens.
Kale, Cos, Cucumber, Celery, Green Apple, Pear, Avocado, Parsley, Lemon

I managed to drag myself out of the water just long enough to slurp down my glowing greens. This one felt more like a smoothie than a juice and that was perfect as I was just starting to feel my energy levels drop (probably all of that blogger style sea- frolicking).

1pm, Green Guru.
Kale, Cos, Celery, Cucumber, Green Apple, Mint, Lemon

A few hours later I dragged myself back out of the ocean for the signature juice, Green Guru, which had been sitting in the cooler bag since we left home. Luckily, it was still icy cold and was perfectly refreshing and gave me the energy boost I needed to get home and get on with some DIY projects.

4:30pm, Good Karma.
Carrot, Lemon, Green Apple, Ginger, Tumeric, Grapefruit

Taking a little DIY break I chilled out in the hammock sipping on the Good Karma juice, which was my favourite by far. This juice claims to boost mood and metabolism, which in my opinions is a miracle...but you know what it worked. I felt full of energy ready to carry on with the day.

6:30 pm, Buddha Juice.
Cucumber, Green Apple, Mint, Lime

I hadn't struggled with not eating, or feeling hungry until this point but when I started cooking dinner for Dan suddenly everything smelt like heaven. I sipped on a cup of green tea whilst I prepared dinner and then sat down at the table with my Buddha Juice and you know what? by the time I sat down I realised I wasn't hungry at all. This juice beyond all the others made me realise just how much I eat due to pure habit instead of hunger and that actually I probably don't need that pile of food at dinner time as much as I think I do.

8pm, Chai Vanilla Dream.
Almond, Brazil Nut, Cashew, Medjool Date, Chai Spice, Vanilla, Filtered Water

I took my Chai Vanilla Dream with me and sipped on it whilst soaking in a warm bubble bath, surrounding by flickering tea lights. It felt like I was transported to some kind of tropical paradise. The juice itself tasted absolutely blissful and sent my tastebuds in to a calm, pre bed time lul, and the fact it was full of protein left me feeling full with absolutely no urges to reach for the biscuit tin.

I never would have thought that a one day cleanse could work so many wonders for my body, but now a few days on I have realised just how much it has changed my relationship with food. I am now able to read my bodes cues so much better than before, my sweet cravings for biscuits and chocolates are gone, I feel full of energy and my skin looks more radiant than ever. Pure Glow Cleanse, I love you.

You can get a one day cleanse for $75 or a three day for $195.
I guarantee you that it's worth every single cent.

Serpentine falls

Last time we were in Australia we headed to Serpentine Falls, we had a little swim in the falls and sunbathed before heading home, it was a bit rushed but lovely none the less. However, now we live here we thought we'd spend a bit more time getting to know the park.

The perfect spot for a picnic.

By the time we got back to the falls, a good few hours later, I was baking and didn't hesitate about jumping in feet first.

Water fall selfie!

It was a perfect day out, the walk was definitely not for the faint hearted, it was steep and the paths were small but we got some amazing views of the park and I definitely enjoyed jumping in the water pools afterwards.

Entry to the Serpentine Falls national park is $12 per car.

Penguin Island

Penguin Island is a unique nature reserve that is home to Western Australia’s largest colony of little penguins, the smallest species of penguin in the world. You get to Penguin Island by either risking life and limb paddling across a sand bar (sadly several people have died doing this) or by hopping on a ferry. We decided to be sensible and went for the 10 minute ferry crossing which cost $15 per person for unlimited transfers.

The penguins, which the island is famed for, tend to hide or go out fishing during the day so we didn't see any whilst wondering about. Luckily for a small fee ($23 for ferry and admission) you can meet the penguins at the Discovery Centre and watch them be fed at one of three daily shows.

You can also opt to do a glass bottomed boat tour, dolphin swim or kayak tour, which allows you to extra the marine park further. But for today penguins, snorkelling and sunbathing was quite enough. Penguin island is a brilliant day out if you're in the Rockingham area, and perfectly affordable. Make sure you take a packed lunch and plenty of water though as there's no shops on the island!
