Exploring Brisbane city

When we decided to move to  Perth we vowed to explore all our neighbouring cities before heading further afield (I say this with a pinch of salt because technically Perth is closer to Bali than Brisbane), having spent a long weekend in Sydney at the end of last year it wasn't long before we started planning our next Australian adventure.

We chose Brisbane for a simple reason- mumma bee was there visiting a friend. We flew across the country with Virgin Australia, check in was quick and easy as it was an internal flight and before we knew it we were jumping off the plane dripping in sweat in tropical Brisbane. We picked up our hire car and head straight to the hotel. There's a huge selection of gorgeous hotels in Brisbane to suit every style and budget, if you're visiting I'd recommend checking out HotelsCombined  to find the best deal for your dates.

After a lovely evening relaxing in the hotel and a very sound nights sleep, we got to work exploring the city.....

Brisbane city hall is gorgeous, there's a museum on the top floor which had a pinhole photography exhibition on at the time, entry was free / gold coin donation.

We walked around the CBD getting lost as we went- probably the best way to experience a new city in my opinion; wondering into countless malls, through the skyscrapers and in and out of Starbucks branches (a girl's gotta get her fix whilst she can)

Streets beach on the Southbank is Australia's only beach in the middle of the city. The water was warm enough to walk straight in and crystal clear, it's such a gorgeous space and I would happily have spent a day lazing around if the sun was out!

There's beautiful gardens both next to the CBD and on Southbank, the walks were all pretty easy which was lucky as we were really struggling with the humidity...

After hours and hours of walking we found ourselves some delicious dinner, grabbed a drink and then wondered back to our hotel where I had a real craving for sugar, so we eventually gave in and ordered room service (first timer!). We snuggle up in bed with our desserts and popped on a movie before finally falling asleep in our cloud of a bed.

My 5 favourite lifestyle bloggers

I spend so much of my time trawling social media and google looking for new blogs to lust over, so I thought I'd mix things up a bit and share some of my favourite with you...

A Rosie Outlook is one of the first lifestyle blogs I begun reading and the fact I've stuck with Rosies adventures for so many years is testament to her beautiful writing and down to earth approach. I love everything about Rosie's blog from her walks through the new forest with dog Bodhi and husband Tom in tow, to her fashion, health and fitness and beautiful photography.

Another blog I've read for years and years, also written by a Rosie is The Londoner. If you want to waste hours and hours dreaming of sandy beaches, frolicking in bikinis and scrummy food then Rosie's blog is for you.

Nirrimi Firebrace has a way with words, and photos, that I cannot describe so click over to Fire and Joy  her online journal and get lost in her whimsical world, filled with photographic adventures, exploring with her gorgeous girl Alba and partner Bee. If you want to fall totally in love read Nirrimi's home birth story, it's garunteed to fill you with joy.

Another lady who has magic in her fingertips is Katie who blogs at Scarphelia. A wonderful mix of film photography and honest words, Katie writes to entertain, enlighten and inspire.

Lux life is a luxury lifestyle blog based in London. Lux's blog makes you feel like you're there with her, dancing on tables at private parties, walking with elephants through Thailand and prancing on a beach with a bestie (literally with my bestie).

and then we were three...

Ladies, Gentlemen and furry friends alike meet the newest member of our little family, Jessie!
We always knew we wouldn't feel complete without a dog in our lives (there's only so many times you can visit family dogs in a week) so after a good year of emailing shelters, breeders and gumtree posters we welcomed Jessie into our lives. Within a few seconds of meeting her (and her doggy family) we fell in love, we went back to meet her a week later and she ran straight to me and snuggled in for a cuddle, it was true love!

I can't wait to keep you all updated on how she settles in and give you regular little pupdates, if you're dog mad make sure you check out her instagram @blueeyedcollie
