life lately & Perth bloggers meet up

I don't know if people like 'life lately' type posts, but I don't have anything to blog about apart from my life lately and I've got an urge to write a blog post, so here's a little bit of what I've been up to away from the blog.

warming up / view from kings park / hot chocolate at the kiosk

It's suddenly got cold in Perth, so I've been stocking up on pyjamas, bed socks and blankets I find K Mart the best for pyjamas and love all of the Target homewares, they're really on trend and affordable.

I've been trying to explore Perth city more, it's quite hard as we live a good 45 minute drive away. Walks around Kings Park  are one of my favourite ways to pass a morning or afternoon.

We've also been trying to go for brunch more, but again being so far from the city makes it quite hard work. If anyone know of good little brunch spots in Rockingham please let me know. I took Dan up to The Kiosk at Floreat and he fell in love, is there anything more wonderful than a coffee looking over a beautiful beach? no, there's not.

Babooshka / point walter / viva la blonde

A few weekends back I met up with some wonderful ladies at Babooshka in Perth (I need to blog about them, the food was awesome), it was so nice to start meeting more bloggers out here as I really miss my Bournemouth blogger ladies! Thanks to Emma from The Illusive Femme & Demelza from Demelza Buckley  for letting me come along.

We head to Point Walter which is near Fremantle, another favourite Perth spot of mine. Dan hadn't been so we head up last weekend and grabbed an ice cream and sat enjoying the beautiful views, we need to take our paddle boards up some time.

More big news is that I finally got my roots done, I'm really funny when it comes to hair dressers so it took  a long time to find somewhere I trusted. The girls at Viva La Blonde in Perth are incredible, the wonderful Paris did my hair and look how insanely beautiful it is! Now all I need to do is learn how to make it this pretty myself...

J cat / point walter / perth blogger meet up

We decided our house was in need of some kind of pet, and aren't ready for a puppy yet so decided to foster a kitty! This is our beautiful foster cat, who is probably the biggest cat I've ever seen. He's still really scared but is super playful if we sit with him for a while.

My last bit of news, phew, is that I'm arranging a big Perth blogger meet up on Saturday 25th July. If you've followed my blogging adventures for a while you'll know that I love hanging out with other bloggers and I quite enjoy organising things.

Perth blogger meet up is going to be super informal, a way for people from all different niches to get together and talk about all things blog. I've got unlimited spaces so if you've like to come drop me a comment below with your email address or send me an email.

Yay!
What have you been up to lately?
Have you been to a blog meet up before?

Sculpture by the sea, Cottesloe

This weekend we decided to head up to Sculpture by the sea on Cottesloe beach. The free exhibition has been running since March 6th but this was the first day we'd had a chance to swing by and sadly the weather wasn't on our side.

art?

To the left of this photo are some mermaids under water which you can see on a super bright day, but are best seen with snorkels and swimmers (which we didn't have with us, boo).

Kim Perrier's ashes to ashes was my favourite piece on display.

You can find out more about some of the exhibiting artists here.
Sculpture by the sea, Cottesloe is open until March 23rd and is free.

A little bit of heaven

Every weekend we pick an area on the map and go exploring, by pure accident this weekend we found a mini paradise, a tiny beach shaded by trees with a bench to hang your towel over and luscious warm water.

As soon as we were set up I was straight on the water
(included just for comedic value, concentration face! nb. I have no idea what I'm doing in this photo)
up and down the shoreline until my arms and abs were sore.
After a little break we thought it'd be fun to see if we could do yoga on the board...
turns out it's harder than everyone on instagram makes it look!
SUP is meant to be relaxing anyway..

It was the perfect afternoon escaping the busy towns and beaches and the perfect escape after a (gasp) 76 hour week at work. I can't wait to go back with an esky full of food and drink and stay until sunset.

What's your idea of heaven?

Hillarys, Perth

This week we had what's going to be a very rare day off together, so we decided to make the most of the sunshine and headed just North of Perth city centre to Hillarys boat harbour, and boy am I glad we did....

Dress from Dotti (last season)

One of the best things about Hillary's boat harbour is the food, there's something for everyone and it's the perfect spot for lunch...
We went for mexican..
followed by...

Two of my favourite men ( the Aussie diet is going well!).

After that we took a stroll along the harbour...
look how wonderfully clear the water is!

and from there to the beach...

where we took far too many silly selfies and splashed about in the waves.. b-e-a-utiful! Before we knew it, it was time to dust the sand from our feet and pile in the car to head home :(

We can't wait to go back and explore the Aquarium of Western Australia when we next have some time off!

p.s sorry for the quality of the pictures at the moment, I've only just got a battery charger for my camera so I've been using Dans.

We live in Australia!!!
So the past week has been a big blur of lists, lists about this and that and things back home to sort out...note to self you still haven't sorted out your pension. But I am so happy to say that we're here, we're safe and we're loving it. I can't wait to get exploring so I can update you all on what we're up to, sorry that it's such a quick post but everything we've done so far has been pretty boring!
